Drafting – Additional Thoughts

Posted: April 20, 2011 in Wandering Thoughts

After i posted yesterday i realized that i left out a couple important bits of info about drafting. i do not want to overspiritualize this sporting event strategy so i will keep this short and bring theses thoughts to a close today.

Drafting: a current of air moving in an upward or downward direction.

When the two cars are drafting they are usually bumper to bumper and eventually there becomes a problem of overheating for the second car. They are so close that there is no air flow to keep the seconds car engine cool. So it would be for spiritual drafting as well. The second person would need to come out from behind the lead person so as to get the necessary air flow or teaching in this case. In a Nascar race the two will often switch positions. i think that works in the spirit as well. It’s a two-way street for those who may be drafting with me. 2 Corinthians 8:13-14 speaks of there being an equality and with drafting this works well.

There are times when a race car picks up litter from the track. It usually lodges itself on the front grill. That then becomes a problem again revolving around the car not being able to get air to the engine for the purpose of keeping it cool. Sometimes i pick up litter from life and it blocks my spirit from the necessary air to keep me running well. In Nascar the car finds another car to begin drafting with, which causes the litter to be removed from the front of the car. It’s that change in air flow at 180 mph that completes the process. If i have trash i can find a person to draft with and thus remove the litter from my life. The process keeps me in the race and allows me to run more efficiently or righteously.
