Peaceful Living – Comes from Acting on Basic Biblical Truths – Structured Into A Program For Daily Life

LIVING IN PEACE WITH OTHERS

i’m going to deviate from step 9 just for a moment. i have used My Addiction – Recovery – for the title ever since i began the 12 Steps. i am going to change the word from Recovery to Healing. i don’t suppose that many will see it as anything different, but… i am experiencing something different. here’s my definition of healing… “Healing is the restoration of God’s order in a person’s life.”

With recovery there are degrees. An injured person may make a 50% recovery or a full recovery. There is also a percentage applied to the ability to recover. The doctor may say that there is a 50% chance for full recovery or a 10% chance for recovery. In both cases i will probably adjust what i do to those statistics and yes there are those who beat the odds.

With healing God guarantees that i not only can but will be healed and as to what degree… well, it’s 100%. Many would ask how i can say that when i have seen people who prayed for healing and yet they still die. i can say it because healing is not based on my wants. It’s the restoration of God’s order. i know what i would like God’s order to be for Ann Marie, my children, my grandchildren and those close to me but as i said that’s my order. The best i can offer anyone is to pray for God’s order to be restored to their life.

Let me be clear the 12 Steps are not what restores God’s order to my life, it’s God Himself. The 12 Steps are just that, steps that i can take to keep me moving and in the right direction, because from what i have seen thus far the 12 Steps lead to God. i believe with all my heart that i and anyone else who desires to can live life without sin. i believe it is possible because of my understanding, awakening, whatever it’s called, i become increasingly aware of the oneness i have “IN” the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is more than being aware of. Being aware of does not necessarily mean oneness.

Oneness: the quality of being one, sameness, unity of thought, feeling, belief, aim, agreement.

Awareness “IN” God’s presence” is not as complicated as i have thought. That’s not to downplay the amount of effort required.

Philippians 4:8-9 says it very clear, “Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.”

This past weekend for four days this is where i missed it and… i struggled.
