When Will my Time Come…?

If i ask a wrong question, i will get a wrong answer.

Waiting…. it’s the thing that I seem to do the most of. The verse i shared yesterday has some key words that I may have not done justice to. “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.”  John 16:21

So when my time comes can i reasonably expect it to be accompanied by pain? I understand that was about child-birth and i’m using it for drams, plans, God assignments. From experience i’d have to say yes. As a disciple my giving birth to a dream or a vision comes with trials, tribulation, and pain until my time comes.

Isaiah 40:31 says, Those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

This is one of those verses with a tough flip side. Those who DO NOT wait for the Lord [who DO NOT expect, DO NOT look for, and DO NOT hope in Him] shall NOT change and will NOT renew their strength and power; they shall NOT lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall NOT run and WILL be weary, they shall walk and faint or become tired.

That doesn’t sound very exciting when it’s put that way. With out waiting for the Lord there is no change, no renewed strength, no power and that’s how it feels sometimes. Still a disciple of God but a tired and weary, perhaps almost dead disciple of God. All the characteristics of a battery but no power, a dead battery.

Then there’s that part about they shall not lift their wings and mount up (close to God) which speaks volumes to me. It says that instead of lifting my wings and mounting up i will be grounded… as in crawling in the dirt, and if i’m not close to God then i am close to what? When left in that place i will be constantly weary and faint and very tired. Those very words are what i hear the most of every day from people.

i will be a person who waits, expects, looks for and hopes, gladly for “my time” so that change, renewed strength and power will be mine.

And I close with this, “But when ed’s God dream is born he forgets the anguish because of his joy that his God dream is born into the world.”
